Gary Gribble will be honored with The Crystal Baton Award as part of the Gift of Music Honors

To introduce The Gift of Music Honors,  we will proudly present “The Crystal Baton Award” to Mr. Gary Gribble, long-time director of bands at Marietta’s Pope High School.  Throughout his illustrious career, Gary has not only mentored and taught thousands of students in making beautiful music but has also changed many lives along the way.  His innovation in student leadership training, groundbreaking technique in teaching marching band, and resume of successful bands for decades has inspired students, families, and our own local community.  One of the greatest testimonies to Gary’s impact is the number of former students who have gone on to become successful music educators themselves.  Gary is the conductor of a true symphony of people who have grown because of his influence, and the Crystal Baton is indicative of that lifetime of leadership.

Mr. Gribble is retiring from teaching after this amazing career.  We will present The Crystal Baton Award at a retirement ceremony planned in his honor May 19th.  We are also pleased to present a special Prize Giveaway Raffle that will benefit both The Gift of Music Foundation mission and also the Pope High School Band Boosters Association, as an additional show of our admiration for the efforts of Gary Gribble toward music education.
